About This Tour
Munnar is a town and hill station located in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is situated at around 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above mean sea level, in the Western Ghats mountain range. Munnar is also called the "Kashmir of South India" and is a popular honeymoon destination.
The region has been inhabited by hunter-gatherer tribals like the Malayarayan and Muthuvan for thousands of years. In the early days, only Tamils and few Malayalis lived there. They were brought as workers in the tea plantations. Tradition states that Colonel Arthur Wellesley, later the Duke of Wellington, was the first British person to pass through Munnar during Tipu Sultan's campaign in Travancore, but this is unsubstantiated.

Lush green rising and falling hills of this park are home to the Nilgiri Tahr, an endangered species of mountain goat. The next stop is the Tea Museum by Tata Tea, where you not only get to understand the tinges of tea processing but also get to sample an energizing cup of tea.After your visit to the tea museum, it is time to visit Rose Garden, Photo Point, Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point. Today post early breakfast, proceed for Thekkady. On arrival at Thekkady, check into your hotel. Later proceed for sightseeing of Periyar National Park. You can opt for boat ride in Lake Periyar. Cochin
After a hearty breakfast checkout from the hotel and get ready to start your journey back to Cochin from where, you can take your return flight / train / bus back home.
